Building Bridges: Your Community & Labor Report
For over 50 years, Building Bridges has been the go-to source for labor and community affairs coverage in the New York Metropolitan area. As the longest-running and best-known labor radio program in the region, we bring you critical discussions about workers' rights, economic justice, and social change. Our reach extends nationally, with a weekly half-hour edition aired on 17 broadcast radio stations and six internet radio platforms.
We tackle the struggles of working people—both where they live and where they work—covering issues like labor organizing, living wages, healthcare access, and housing justice. We have featured legendary voices in the fight for justice, including Nelson Mandela, Cesar Chavez, Ossie Davis, Ruby Dee, and Harry Belafonte.
From annual specials on Labor Day and May Day to in-depth reporting on critical issues like minimum wage battles, healthcare for all, and social security privatization, Building Bridges delivers incisive coverage to educate and unite movements for change.
Equal Rights & Justice
Movers and shakers occupy the airwaves to challenge dominant narratives, expose hidden histories, and demand accountability. Equal Rights & Justice dives deep into systemic inequalities, amplifying the voices of those fighting to fulfill the promise of democracy. We examine the legal, political, and economic structures that uphold oppression and explore strategies for dismantling them.

About Mimi Rosenberg
Mimi Rosenberg is an attorney and activist with over 30 years of experience in poverty law at The Legal Aid Society. She has authored texts on how race and class shape city planning and housing development and has been at the forefront of grassroots struggles for social justice.
As the producer of Building Bridges, Mimi has been a force in labor and community radio since 1968, ensuring that workers' voices are heard nationwide.
Her activism spans multiple movements, from worker organizing with the International Ladies' Garment Workers’ Union to prison abolition and the fight against mass incarceration. She has been a key player in the struggle for racial justice, co-founding the NY Support Committee for The Black Panther Party and the Black United Front Support Committee, and has worked with international movements, including the United Nations Committee Against Apartheid and the African National Congress in South Africa.
